Members of the Listowel Badminton Club and the Kerry Badminton community have come together to bid a fond farewell to one of their own, Ivan, who has announced his departure to new adventures. Ivan's presence will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of playing with and against him.
As a proud representative of Listowel and Kerry, Ivan has an impressive record of wins in various competitions. His recent victories in the Division 2 singles, doubles, and mixed county championships are a testament to his skill and dedication to the sport. However, it's not just his on-court achievements that make Ivan a standout member of the badminton community.
Ivan's quiet, intelligent, and unassuming gentle nature has earned him the respect and admiration of his peers. He embodies the true spirit of good sportsmanship, always conducting himself with humility and kindness. Behind the scenes, Ivan has consistently shown a willingness to lend a helping hand, volunteering without hesitation and always with a smile.
The Listowel Badminton Club recently came together to wish Ivan well in his new chapter, hosting a special going-away night and club tournament. The event was a fitting tribute to Ivan's dedication and commitment to the club, and it was clear that he will be deeply missed.
"Ivan's departure will leave a huge void in our club," said a fellow member. "But we're also grateful for the time we had with him. He's set a high standard for sportsmanship, and we hope that others will follow his example."
As Ivan moves on to new adventures, he takes with him the best wishes of the entire Kerry badminton community. We hope that he will stay in touch and return to visit us often. When he does, he'll be welcomed back with open arms.

Valmont the Cheeky Frenchie, the Listowel club mascot, won't be the only one missing Ivan. His teammates, opponents, and friends will all miss his kind spirit and generous heart. We wish Ivan all the best on his new journey and hope that the lessons he's shared about good sportsmanship will be remembered and emulated by all who played with him.
